I like the idea of being able to filter posts from certain applications. With the current design I ended up filtering out one friend because I was constantly getting updates on an application he was using that I had no interest in.

It took me a while to get on the Facebook bandwagon (they say there are now more than 140 million active users), but I’ve enjoyed slowly catching up with people from my past and keeping up with the lives of so many people I know from various segments of my life.

I’ve recently been wondering how different things would have been if Facebook was around when I was graduating from high school. Most of my Facebook friends from high school are people I haven’t see or heard of since high school. It will be a lot easier for the class of 2009 to keep in touch with the high school friends.

Lee and I cooked the turkey this year. We always manage to do something funny when we cook the turkey. This year we remembered we had to take the neck and gizzards out so we looked and felt around for them and Lee pulled something out. We assumed what we had taken out was both of them. Well, after cooking the turkey we realized we hadn’t gotten both out. We had only taken the neck out and had left the gizzards in the turkey. :) Anyways, the turkey was good and I guess that is what matters. Also, I can’t say that it made anyone sick because four of the people at our home were already sick. He he. :)

The summer seemed to fly by for us. Now that September is upon us we are busy again. Renee started preschool and seems to really enjoy it. She is the kind of girl that I think believes she is ready for elementary school already. :) Emily is enjoying some one-on-one time while Renee is at school. She is also walking. She loves the new found freedom.

September also brought another school year for me. I am a mentor teacher for students with IEPs and that are on a behavior contract. Currently I have one student but can have up to 10 at one time. I am enjoying the change, but am also little nervous as well because it is a new job.

Also, we adopted a new kitten about 2 months ago. A friend of a friend found her and wasn’t able to keep her due to her son’s allegies. We were a little nervous taking in another animal but she has worked out great. She came to use litterbox trained and with no fleas or ear mites. She gets along well with our dog, Casey. In fact, Casey loves spending time with her. The other two cats, Noah and Sarah, aren’t too fond of her. With the help of Renee we decided to name her Belle. Which means beautiful and is also one of Renee’s favorite princesses. :)

I can’t believe Emily turned one today. Time has certainly flown by. She amazes me at what she is learning. Right now she is trying to get the walking thing down. She loves to move and doesn’t sit still for very long, but when she wants to cuddle and is tired she will sit with a stuffed animal and nuzzle up next to you. She also loves the water and enjoys splashing herself. She can make herself laugh and loves to eat. Lee and I have enjoyed watching her grow. :)
